Star Island

CrossCurrent Communications provides strategic counsel on all communications related activities to the Star Island Corporation, a non-profit organization that owns and manages this historic island that’s part of the Isles of Shoals.

Since 2013, we have worked with the Star leadership team to steer a shift in public perception about Star Island. Beginning with a communications audit and assessment, we shaped a communications and marketing plan that has guided messaging, PR, video assets, marketing and development.  We also developed a Crisis Communications Plan.

In that time we have garnered feature-length coverage on local and regional television, radio, and multi-page spreads in travel and lifestyle magazines, in addition to countless articles in local publications.  We revamped most of the organization’s marketing collateral and provided input for a new website, and coordinated numerous press events related to Star Island’s centennial, energy and sustainability initiatives, and an annual sailing regatta. We have also helped increase participation in the conferences held on the island and the number of visitors who ferry out for the day.  In 2018, CrossCurrent Communications produced a promotional video for Star Island that has garnered more than 70 thousand views on Facebook and YouTube.  We continue to raise awareness for this amazing place!
